3.1 - Meeting the requirements

Before you can enter students for World Class Tests, you must register and be approved by AQA as a World Class Test school or centre.

Registrations will only be accepted electronically through the World Class Arena website at www.worldclassarena.org. Follow the links to 'How to register' and you will be directed to read two documents before proceeding further; 'Invigilation and administration requirements' and 'Technical requirements' (Appendix B). You are advised to print these documents off if further discussion is needed with your examination officer, IT technician or Head of school or centre.

Once you are satisfied that you can meet these requirements, click on ''Click here to register formally as a World Class Test centre' at the bottom of the page.

3.2 - Registration form

You are then taken to the start of the registration form. There are two options given; the first is for UK schools which have a Department for Education and Skills (DfES) number, the second for other schools or centres.

If you have a DfES number, enter it and many of the fields will be completed for you. If you are a UK school and do not know your DfES number, use the search facility.

If you do not have a DfES number, click alongside the second option.

You are taken to the main registration page (see Appendix C). Fields in red are compulsory. You should take care to give a correct, secure and reliable e-mail address as this will be used for communication and will also be used as your username to access your online World Class Test administration centre that will be created after approval by AQA.

If there are suspicions that there has been a breach of security, this breach should be reported directly to AQA via the helpline or e-mail.

You are asked to state whether you will accept internal and/or external students. There are three options:

  • only our own students;
  • only external students;
  • both.

Although you will have to click on one option when registering, you may change this at a later date.

Once you have completed the registration form, click on 'Submit request'.

3.3 - Confirming your details

You are asked to confirm that you are authorised to proceed with registering as a World Class Test school or centre, and that you can comply with the requirements. If this is the case, tick to confirm that you concur with the license agreement and click on 'Complete registration'.

You are then presented with the details that you have submitted. If any errors are found, please e-mail info@worldclassarena.org or ring the Helpline on (44) (0) 8700 101 798 immediately.

3.4 - Approval as a WCT centre

Once AQA have received your completed registration form, you will receive an e-mail with a username and a password for your World Class Test administration centre. Please keep this very secure, as this is the 'key' to your online World Class Test administration centre. If you do not receive this e-mail within five working days, please contact us.

You will not be able to enter your World Class Test administration centre until the status of your registration changes to 'Approved'. You can check the status of your application by logging in to the link given in the e-mail (https://wb.wcthq.org.uk/reg/login.asp).

Any schools or centres currently registered with AQA to offer public examinations will be accredited subject to confirmation of the minimum technical specification being met.

Any other schools or centres will be given provisional approval until such time as they can be inspected. International schools or centres will be checked through contacts with the British Council.

Once you have been approved by AQA, you will receive an e-mail indicating that you may now start to enter students for an available test session which can be accessed through the link provided using the username and password that you have been sent.
